2014/04- Principal Investigator at S3IT, UZH. Develop strategies for storing and processing data on a large scale. Provide expert technical advice in key S3IT projects and fund the organization. Lead and carry out research projects in several life science research areas such as highthroughput microscopy, modeling, mass cytometry and proteomics.
2008/09-2014/03 Group leader at the IMSB, ETHZ. Headed a research group of 13 scientists and engineers building MS data analysis infrastructure and developing strategies to integrate this information with protein structure modeling. Supervised PhD students and was the scientific lead in several research projects involving host-pathogen interactions, mass spectrometry and protein structure modeling. 2006/09-2008/08 Research Scientist in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Washington. Main objectives were to derive structure constraint data using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry to enhance de novo protein structure prediction.
2001/09-2006/08 Visiting Scientist in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Washington. Main objectives were to create protein structures for all domains in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae by de novo protein folding (using David Baker's Rosetta) or homology modeling and to develop a web-interfaced database for the Yeast Resource Center.
2001/06-2001/08 Visiting Scientist in the Department of Cell and Matrix biology at Lund University. Develop a data storage and data integration/analysis tool, DDB, for 2D electrophoresis gels and MALDI-TOF MS-data.
2001/01-2003/05 Co-Founded Ludesi AB, a biotechnology company focused on analysis and fast generation of proteomics/toxicology data.
2000/01-2003/05 Founded a computer consulting company in the spring of 2000. Organized conferences and design web sites. Designed thesis works and other print jobs. Organized the 11th Colloquium on Lung Fibrosis together with the Lund University and the Karolinska institute in September 2000 as well as VIIth World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders conference (2002) together with the Karolinska institute.
1995/01-1999/12 Part time Computer Technician at Lund University. Main tasks were to monitor networks, plan investments of new equipment, develop web pages and educate the staff in MS word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Media Cybernetics Gel-Pro Analyzer.
